So, Android M was just showcased at this year’s Google IO event and a plethora of new and updated features were announced, including:
- Android Pay + More utilisation of fingerprint sensors
- Granular app permissions
- Custom Chrome browser views in apps
- More power usage optimisations
- Improved Google Now
- Better inter-app interactions
What are you most excited about and what do you feel was lacking in the Android M dev preview?
Personally I’m looking forward to the power saving measures and that Google is pushing towards adopting USB Type C as the way to go (though hopefully it will be the 3.1 standard instead of the 3.0 that Apple has used for it’s latest MacBook). Also for the app permissions even though that was in some ways already partially introduced 2 (IIRC) iterations of the Android OS ago, so hopefully this time that feature will make it to the masses.
