Indian edtech major Byju’s eyes global markets, to launch in Indonesia by May

“India’s edtech leader Byju’s is now turning its attention to international markets with a one-to-one learning platform called Byju’s Future School,” Entrackr reported.

Details:

  • The platform will be launched in USA, UK, Australia, Brazil, Indonesia, and Mexico by May. The company also plans to expand into more countries in the near future.
  • Karan Bajaj, co-founder and CEO of WhiteHat Jr, will lead Byju’s global expansion plans. Byju’s had acquired WhiteHat Jr in August last year.

Context:

  • In March, it was reported that Byju’s is in talks with investors to raise up to US$600 million in a new financing round, which may propel its valuation to US$15 billion.
  •  Recently, Byju’s acquired Blackstone Group-backed Aakash Educational Services in an estimated US$950-million cash-and-stock deal.
