Indonesian SaaS startup Mekari acquires CRM platform Qontak

Mekari, an Indonesia-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for human resource and finance management, today announced the acquisition of Qontak, a startup that provides customer relationship management (CRM) and omnichannel communications platforms, for an undisclosed sum,” e27 reported.

Details:

  • The deal will provide Mekari with a better customer support experience and increased productivity of sales and support teams through Qontak’s CRM and omnichannel communication solutions.
  • Brendan Rakphongphairoj, Qontak’s founder and CEO, will join Mekari’s top management as part of a reshuffle after the acquisition. He will continue leading Qontak as one of Mekari’s business units.

Context:

  • The development comes days after Mekari raised US$18 million in a series D round led by Money Forward as the company looks to accelerate product development and grow its product and engineering team.
  • According to Mekari CEO Suwandi Soh, the company is also actively looking for merger and acquisition opportunities in the Indonesian SaaS sector.
