Digital workplace startup bags $20m in series A round from Jungle Ventures, others

Saltmine, an end-to-end digital workplace platform, announced it has raised US$20 million in a series A round from existing investors Jungle Ventures and Xplorer Capital.

New investor JLL Spark, the investment arm of real estate service firm JLL, also joined in the fundraise.

Founded in 2017, Saltmine’s software helps enhance workplace collaborations, improve the employee experience, and reduce costs. Its platform houses workplace data including strategy, design, pricing, and portfolio analytics.

The San Francisco-based firm will use the fresh funds to hire talent, with a focus on growing its sales, customer success, product, and engineering teams in Singapore. It also aims to expand its portfolio companies as well as accelerate the firm’s growth in Asia Pacific, particularly in Australia, Hong Kong, India, and Singapore.

It currently has over 125 employees in five offices across Asia, Europe, and North America. Some of the firm’s corporate clients include Workday, the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and Snowflake.

JLL has also inked a deal with Saltmine to sell the latter’s software to its customers, creating a distribution channel for the startup’s innovative platform.

Saltmine has appointed Jim Baum to its board of directors and Shawn Green as the company’s chief revenue officer.

Baum currently serves as an executive-in-residence at General Catalyst as well as chairman of the data company Cazena. He has more than 25 years of experience in leading growth at innovative technology firms. Green, meanwhile, brings his enterprise sales and leadership experience to his new role, where he will further establish Saltmine’s presence in North America.
