Axie Infinity users who were affected by the US$620 million hack will receive reimbursements on June 28, Bloomberg reported.
Once Sky Mavis, the developer of the play-to-earn game, reopens the software bridge breached in the attack, affected users will be eligible to withdraw one ether for each one they had in March, the report added. However, the 56,000 ether tokens missing from the Axie Infinity-related decentralized autonomous organization’s (DAO) treasury will “remain uncollateralized.”
Ronin Network, the Ethereum sidechain of the popular crypto game, suffered a security breach in March, resulting in the theft of 173,600 ether and about US$25.5 million in USDC stablecoins. At the time, Axie Infinity developer Sky Mavis promised to reimburse users who had lost their assets.
In April, Sky Mavis raised US$150 million from Binance, Animoca Brands, a16z, Dialectic, and Paradigm to pay back all affected users.
