Binance to add 15%-30% staff despite market downturn

Crypto major Binance is planning to increase its headcount this year by between 15% and 30%, reported CNBC. This was revealed by CEO Changpeng Zhao at the Crypto Finance Conference in Switzerland on Wednesday.

In 2022, Binance increased its headcount from 3,000 to almost 8,000, according to Zhao. An additional 30% of staff would put the firm’s number of employees at over 10,000 globally.

The development is in dire contrast to other crypto firms, which have been slashing jobs constantly this past year.

Most recently, Coinbase said it’s laying off 950 employees to slim down operating expenses.

Zhao also told the conference that his company needs to be more “well-organized” before the next crypto bull run.
