After bagging funding from star cricketer Yuvraj Singh a few weeks ago, beauty and wellness app Vyomo has secured funding from TaxiForSure co-founder Aprameya Radhakrishna. This is the debut angel investment for Radhakrishna, who recently sold the startup to Ola.

Vyomo did not disclose the deal size in today’s announcement.

Vyomo’s app aggregates hair salons, spas, and stylists. The startup aims to do for beauty businesses what Ola and Uber have done for cabs and limos.

The merchant-facing app for salons provides management tools that simplify their business and brings more people through the doors, including things like customer relationship management and a booking management system.

Big beauty biz

“At Vyomo, our aim is to create a complete end to end solution for beauty and wellness, a mobile platform that is lacking so far within the industry, and ultimately repeat the success story of tech startups from the cab industry. Thus having Aprameya on-board is priceless,” says Yuvraj Singh, who invested in Vyomo through his recently founded VC fund Youwecan.

Radhakrishna will be involved in advising Vyomo on the strategy, business model, and leadership hiring decisions.

The app has listed 1,500 salons and spas. “We will bring more than a million stylists on the platform in the next two years,” says Abhinav Khare, founder of Vyomo. A management graduate from London Business School, Khare started the company along with his classmate Poonam Marwah.

Vyomo competes with health and personal care booking platform Ziffi which forayed into salons and spas last year. Ziffi is backed by early stage venture capital firm Orios Venture Partners.
