India funding round-up: Little, Zimmber, Wrig Nanosystems

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.
Here’s today’s funding round-up:
Little
Manish Chopra and Satish Mani, co-founders of online clothing and accessories shopping platform Zovi, have raised US$50 million to launch a mobile-only online-to-offline (O2O) marketplace for deals called Little. Paytm led this funding round along with an undisclosed investor. SAIF Partners and Tiger Global also participated in the round. The funding will be used to hire senior-level talent, cultivate a merchant ecosystem, and build technology to focus on the Indian O2O market.
Zimmber
Zimmber, an on-demand home services marketplace, has raised US$2 million from IDG ventures and Omidyar Networks in a pre-series A funding round. Sherpalo Ventures and Aarin Capital also participated in this round.
Last month, the company raised US$400,000 from InMobi’s founding team Naveen Tiwari, Amit Gupta, and Mohit Saxena. It also acqui-hired a Mumbai-based startup called Dhulai, which offers on-demand laundry service. Zimmber was founded in 2014 by Anubhab Goel, Gaurav Shrivastava, and Amit Kumar.
Wrig Nanosystems
Medical technology startup Wrig Nanosystems has raised US$2.3 million from Sachin and Binny Bansal (co-founders of Flipkart), Malvinder and Shivinder Singh (former Ranbaxy and Fortis promoters), and Gurpreet Singh of Round Glass Partners. The startup has developed TrueHb Hemometer, which is a portable device to measure hemoglobin in a few minutes. Delhi-based Wrig Nanosystems was founded by Ambar Srivastava in 2009 and incubated at IIT Delhi.
Opinio
Hyperlocal on-demand delivery startup Opinio has raised $1.3 million from Accel Partners, TracxnLabs, and angels. Opinio is in its seventh week of operations and processing over 1,000 orders a day covering seven areas of Bangalore. It was founded by IIT-Kanpur alumni Mayank Kumar and Lokesh Jangid.
