This marks the fourth collaboration with a sports team on the Binance Fan Token platform, with other partnerships involving Brazilian football team Santos FC, Portuguese club FC Porto, and the BWT Alpine F1 racing team.
Offering benefits beyond match access, the NFT tickets will give buyers discounts at the Lazio store and Europa League matches. It will also offer quicker access to Stadio Olimpico – S.S. Lazio’s home stadium – during game days, Lazio fan token giveaways, as well as other unique experiences.
The security offered by blockchain tech also means that several ticketing problems are avoided, particularly counterfeiting and inflated resale ticket prices.
The NFT tickets will be available for all Lazio home matches, and season ticket holders with Binance accounts can claim their tickets for free through the fan token platform, official Lazio stores, and social media.
One of the largest emerging use cases for NFTs is in sports – Deloitte Global predicts that the sector will generate US$2 billion in transactions this year. The digital assets can be implemented as paper-free trading card collectibles, limited edition video clips, and athlete-branded content.
