Indonesian ecommerce roll-up firm names ex-Bukalapak exec as CTO
Indonesia-based Hypefast, an ecommerce roll-up firm, has appointed Mohammed Alabsi as its chief technology officer.

In a statement, the company said that Alabsi will focus on developing tech to support its retail ecosystem.
Before joining Hypefast, Alabsi was a senior vice president of engineering at Bukalapak until February last year. He also served as a senior engineer at Amazon and as a founding member of the global ecommerce giant’s advertising and B2B commerce businesses.
Alabsi is also an active angel investor. His portfolio includes prominent startups such as GrowSari, Evermos, Upmesh, Kilo, and Edamama.

Founded in 2020 by former Lazada Indonesia chief marketing officer Achmad Alkatiri, Hypefast currently has 25 brands that generated around US$100 million in annualized revenue last year. The company plans to expand to Malaysia and Thailand this year.
Since its establishment, the firm has raised more than US$60 million in both equity and debt funding.
