One Fantasy is the first mobile game that the company has released, and it will be available for Android and iOS users via the One Super App, according to a statement.
With the game, players will be able to use “assigned credits” to add One Championship athletes to their “fantasy team” and rank the athletes based on the chances of them winning their upcoming match. Users then earn points whenever their chosen player scores a victory.
The recent launch marks one of many moves by One Championship to diversify its offerings. The Sequoia- and Temasek-backed media company began as an organizer of mixed martial arts competitions and events.
In March 2018, the firm created a video-streaming app, which features its own martial arts content and related materials. Later that year in November, it announced that it was expanding into esports, with a US$50 million investment to hold tournaments in the space. The firm began its own apparel business in the same month as well, selling branded shirts, bags, caps, and possibly limited edition items.
Just this year, One Championship announced the launch of its movie and TV division, One Studios, which it said would produce original films and shows.
The firm’s most recent fundraise was a series D round in October 2018, where it successfully raised US$166 million. The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from firms like Temasek Holdings and Greenoaks Capital.
