Happy Ending: Vietnamese Startup Uses Sex to Sell Flowers

Sometimes you click around and you stumble upon some really funny websites that you have to share.

Well, here’s one: HappyEnding.vn. When you log in, you’ll be greeted with a hilarious website intro (seriously, don’t click “skip intro”) that’ll have you laughing out loud. And it’s all about flowers. The site brings a whole new twist to “sex sells” with their sexually inspired marketing.

Despite the amusing name, HappyEnding is in the serious business of being a specialist e-commerce store. For those not in the know, “happy ending” is a term commonly used in Vietnam and across Asia for a pleasurable ending to a massage.

After clicking through, you’ll find more hilarity as the startup e-store has separated its floral products into three main packages:

• Cheap Bastard Collection
• Sugar Daddy Collection
• Playboy Collection

Users can order from a wide selection of different types of flower collections according to how much money they got in their pockets. The sugar daddy range is for the big-spenders.

And if you’re feeling especially adventurous, have a click through their products and check out their “best responses”. They’re both dirty and hilarious.

HappyEnding is actually not alone in the flower e-commerce or online delivery market in the country. In January, Hoa Yeu Thuong was one of the startups that pitched at the annual year-end startup retrospective in Ho Chi Minh city. But Hoa Yeu Thuong doesn’t have anywhere near the wit and charm of HappyEnding.

So although Hoa Yeu Thuong is the more straight-laced side of the market, it’s always nice to have a some spicy variety in e-commerce. I can’t imagine what the HappyEnding guys would do with electronics e-commerce if they ever got into it.
