AirAsia will launch a ride-hailing service in Indonesia in November. According to AirAsia Super App Indonesia, the service will focus on four-wheeled transportation at its launch, with Bali as its first location.

AirAsia Ride has already rolled out in Malaysia, where drivers can be full-time employees.
Tony Fernandes, CEO of AirAsia, opened up the possibility to bring the company’s full-time employee program to other countries including Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand.
In a statement, AirAsia Ride said that it plans to build an internal driver fleet in Indonesia in the long term.
“We are in the development stage to determine the scheme and business model, by adjusting to the conditions and applicable government regulations,” said AirAsia Super App Indonesia’s management.

The company previously partnered with Gojek as a courier partner for food delivery services. The offering is already available in Jakarta and its suburbs.
In Thailand, AirAsia acquired Gojek’s business last year to build its super app in the country, which will include ride-hailing services.
