India’s First Daily Deal Site, Mydala.com, Grew 3.5x in the Last Three Months
Being a first mover doesn’t necessarily mean you will be at the top of the rankings when the dust settles. Mydala.com, which claims to be the first Groupon-like service in India, is being slapped left and right by competitors like Snapdeal, who made headlines on several occasions earlier this year.
However, Mydala isn’t one to give up easily and we were told that in the last three months, its web visitor count went up by a whopping 373 percent. It is now ranked as one of the top 100 websites in India by Alexa, the online web ranking service.
So how the hell did traffic surge by such a huge margin? Anisha Singh, CEO and founder of Mydala, told us that she added several new categories to the site such as health, travel, fashion and lifestyle.
That’s not all, of course. Mydala also beefed up its loyalty program to ensure visitors return to the site for more deals and rewards and provide its users with a more personal experience by allowing them to customize their preferences as to which types of deal updates they would like to receive.
The result is a whopping total of three million subscribers, a milestone Mydala announced last month.
Another move made by Anisha is “Mydala Mall,” a new feature which allows merchants to run multiple deals at the same time. Anisha claims this is unique in India.
“With the launch of Mydala Mall, buyers need not worry about missing deals from their favorite sellers, and merchants can explore more engaging, long-lasting relationships with their patrons instead of just one-off deals,”
Things seem to be going pretty well for Mydala so far and we’re looking forward to hearing more from Anisha and friends. Mydala had so far received a total of $2.25 million in funding from Info Edge and founders of CX Partners.
