The founders of Momofin Avento discovered their mission while working on Indonesia’s e-Meterai, the national electronic stamp duty system.
They saw forged documents repeatedly bypass existing verification tools. It became clear that systems built before the generative AI boom were failing, creating a critical security gap.
😟 Problem
Generative AI enables the mass production of fake documents and companies relying on document verification for hiring, lending, or social programs face rising threats. Traditional software and human reviewers are increasingly unable to detect sophisticated forgeries.
Digital document manipulation is up over 240% year-over-year. In Indonesia, deepfake-related fraud has soared by 1,500%.
Local financial institutions reported over US$44 million in losses in a single quarter from fraud that bypassed their verification systems.
💡 Solution
Avento has developed an API that detects fake, edited, and AI-generated documents. The tool integrates directly into a company’s existing onboarding or verification workflow, flagging fraudulent files before they cause damage.
- It analyzes forensic markers like pixel patterns, color shifts, and lighting inconsistencies.
- The system identifies manipulated content, including swapped photos, edited text, and entirely synthetic IDs.

📊 Market size
Avento charges 800 rupiah (US$0.048) per document check. Its target customers in the ASEAN region, such as fintechs or hiring platforms, typically process 300,000 to 2 million checks per month. This model creates a potential annual revenue of US$180,000 to US$1 million per customer.
With roughly 200 high-volume verifiers across Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand, capturing 5-10% of this market could generate US$10-20 million in annual recurring revenue.
