In brief: Thai spa and beauty booking platform nabs funding from 500 TukTuks, others

Gowabi, a spa and beauty booking marketplace, announced it’s raised an undisclosed amount of series A funding from 500 TukTuks, Thai mobile phone provider Dtac, and Danish angel investor Kasper Kragelund.

The Thailand-based startup was co-founded by ex-Rocket Internet and Ensogo employees Samir Cherro, Wipawee Wongsirisak, and Vadim Eremeev. It started as a beauty booking platform in 2016, but quickly expanded to offer discounted voucher deals and off-peak discounts.

The startup earlier raised an undisclosed amount from 500 TukTuks in August 2017. The new cash injection will be used to reach more customers and merchants, launch more categories, and expand into new markets.
