Indonesia’s GoTo Group has expanded its rewards program, GoPay Coins, beyond its ecosystem.
Users are now able to collect GoPay Coins when transacting with merchants that offer GoPay as a payment method such as Cinema XXI, Hypermart, and Bluebird.
Hans Patuwo, president of financial technology at GoTo, said the expansion of the rewards program will “further enhance GoPay’s ubiquity in Indonesia.”
Launched in October 2021, GoPay Coins is a cashback system that lets users earn rewards after completing an order from the GoTo ecosystem. Each GoPay Coin is equivalent to one Indonesian rupiah and has a one-year validity period for redemption.
GoTo said the feature’s implementation helped usher in 2.3x higher conversions for cross-platform user acquisition compared to other incentives during its September quarter. It also aided in lowering customer acquisition costs by 20% versus standalone platform incentives, according to the company.
