Zuno Carbon wants to simplify ESG reporting for businesses

Similar to how humans use blood test results to find potential underlying health issues, Zuno Carbon‘s Veridis platform aims to help businesses identify gaps in their ESG measurement and reporting by analyzing multiple data points across their operations.

“Our software allows companies to collect data points from various parts of their operations, such as their procurement, their finance team, their sustainability team,” CEO and co-founder Hari Nair told Tech in Asia in a recent interview. “We then convert that data into emissions data, which essentially helps companies account for their carbon footprint.”

Nair added that the AI-driven platform can align with global regulatory frameworks, which lets it provide actionable recommendations to companies so they can reduce their carbon footprint.

Founded in 2020, Zuno Carbon recently raised US$2.5 million in a seed round led by Wavemaker Partners, with Seeds Capital and Blue InCube Ventures participating. In 2022, the climate tech firm placed first at the Startup Arena Pitch Battle by Tech in Asia and East Ventures.

The startup said its has attracted clients from industries such as oil and gas, logistics, and real estate. Notable names include Cyan Renewables, HBA Future Energy, Lotte Chemical Titan, and Dearborn Singapore.

Zuno Carbon charges a fixed subscription fee based on the client’s operational assets and requirements. The company said it has doubled its revenue since June 2022.

The firm has also partnered with Germany-based sustainability solutions provider TÜV SÜD and Singapore-based business advisory firm SME Centre@SICCI to offer SMEs an affordable solution to monitor their carbon emissions.

Zuno Carbon aims to expand primarily within Southeast Asia, including Thailand, as well as in the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates.
