Google’s PAC-MAN logo, displayed today, has certainly caught our attention (right). It isn’t just a pretty static logo, it’s a playable PAC-MAN game embedded on Google’s frontpage! I had my 5 minutes of fun, dodging and gobbling, and reliving the good old PAC-MAN days.
If this PAC-MAN doodle were an ad, I would have given it a near perfect 10. It has a great mix of interactiveness and fun. The game was so creatively made that many of us would feel the urge to share it with our friends. Of course, I’m not denying that Google’s brand name and minimalistic front page have made this “advertisement” outstanding.
In any case, Google’s PAC-MAN logo has fulfilled 3 important elements that make display ads successful. It could even match up to our list of creative digital ads.
