The official Disney’s Facebook page has over 14 million fans and a total of 100 million ‘likes’ across its network of 200 Facebook pages. Congrats! Its Facebook network includes characters and movie pages, attracting more than 5 million ‘likes’ per week.
The Walt Disney company is the first brand to have reached over 100 million Facebook ‘likes’. Of course, that doesn’t mean that Disney has connected with 100 million unique users since a user can ‘like’ multiple Disney pages.
One point we can all learn here is Disney’s effort in presenting a concerted brand presence through Facebook. Disney has created engagement simply by interconnecting various Disney-related pages together. The result is a branded Facebook network.

Browsing through these Disney pages has brought back a lot of childhood memory (the Disney magic is working). You bet, some of the pages, if not most, are created by avid Disney fans. To celebrate its Facebook milestone, Disney created a video to illustrate how its Facebook network has grown to today’s monstrous size. We thought that the video could have included cartoon characters or at least some form of Disney magic to stay consistent with its brand persona.
