Founded in 2013, Koltiva helps agriculture companies trace product movements – from farmers to end users – in their supply chains. The firm also promotes environmental protection as well as provides agricultural advice to farmers through its network of agronomists.

The company currently works with more than 700,000 producers in 27 countries. It started with cocoa products but has since expanded to 30 commodities, such as coffee, palm oil, rubber, seaweed, and shrimp.

Koltiva is currently led by Manfred Borer, who has worked with Swiss-based non-profit organization Swisscontact in executing agriculture projects in Indonesia.

The firm stated that it plans to use the fresh funding to continue developing KoltiPay – a fintech platform with payment, insurance, and loan features – as well as a marketplace for agricultural items and harvests called KoltiTrade.
