Gojek-backed wealthtech startup Pluang bags $20m in pre-series B round

Indonesia fintech startup Pluang said it has raised US$20 million in its latest round of funding.

  • Pluang will use the new funds to launch several new asset classes and offer more proprietary financial products. One new focus will be to introduce a way to utilize government bonds as a savings product.
  • In addition, it will implement several automated features which allow users to make saving a routine habit.
  • The fintech firm closed its US$3 million series A funding round led by Gojek’s investment arm Go-Ventures in March 2019, and since then, it has gathered over 1 million users.
  • The platform allows users to make micro-savings and investing contributions and offers gold, US equity indices, and cryptocurrencies. Users can check or top up their accounts, make transactions, or cash out through its mobile app.
