Gojek joins LinkAja’s Grab-led series B round
LinkAja announced that it has received a strategic investment from Indonesian tech giant Gojek, pushing the interbank network’s ongoing series B raise past US$100 million.
As part of the deal, LinkAja will be integrated as a payment method for select additional services available on the Gojek app in Indonesia, according to a statement. Users will also be able to make payments for certain Gojek services from the LinkAja app.

According to the statement, the partnership builds on Gojek’s existing tie-up with LinkAja, which involves the latter’s payment method being available for transportation and ticket reservation purchases through Gojek’s app.
LinkAja said its platform is currently focused on payments for retail, public services and other daily needs, with around 80% of its users hailing from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in Indonesia. Meanwhile, GoPay caters to Indonesia’s retail sector and businesses, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as daily services within the Gojek platform.
Gojek joined the round after LinkAja said that Singapore-based Grab – the Indonesian super app’s archrival – is leading the fundraise. The LinkAja investment could give Grab access to more payment opportunities in Indonesia, including train and highway toll payments, utility bills, and social welfare distribution.
“The strategic collaboration between LinkAja and our ecosystem, which includes partners like Ovo and Tokopedia, will allow us to bring cashless services to all Indonesians in a way that is trusted, convenient, and accessible,” Grab Indonesia managing director Neneng Goenadi previously said.
