FTX CEO’s top associates pledge guilty in the US
FTX co-founder Gary Wang and ex-Alameda Research co-CEO Caroline Ellison have pleaded guilty to federal charges in the US, CNBC reported, citing a statement from US Attorney Damian Williams.
Both were found having aided FTX co-founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried in allegedly defrauding FTX customers.
Meanwhile, Bankman-Fried has landed in New York City, where he is expected to face eight federal criminal charges, ranging from money laundering and wire fraud to securities fraud.
Last month, Temasek was scrutinized in Singapore’s parliament regarding its investment in FTX. Lawrence Wong, the city-state’s deputy prime minister, said the firm is currently reviewing its internal processes following the write-off of its US$275 million investment in the crypto exchange.
