If you think augmented reality shopping is too much of a trouble, perhaps shopping via YouTube could better satisfy your online shopping needs.
With television presenter and stylist, Louise Roe, as host, French Connection launched its YouTube channel featuring a series of fashion tips and advices.
The channel is coined as the French Connection’s YouTique. If you’re wondering, combining YouTube and boutique into one derives the word, YouTique. We have also included an introduction video below explaining how YouTique works.
It’s pleasant witnessing how brands are using various web platforms to connection with consumers. Simply pushing messages just doesn’t work. The new age consumers expect brands to connect with them and French Connection’s attempt to combine content with marketing messages is highly admirable
The campaign creates a win-win situation as consumers get to learn from expert while the brand receives a high level of engagement intrinsically linked to point of purchase.

If you were to view the videos, buying an item is just a click away (on the video itself) and every video is kept around one minute to suit the short attention span of YouTubers.
With the campaign at its initial stage, it’s too quick to judge if the idea would work in reality (I’m betting a yes though). But it sure looks fun. If you’re a lady, spend some time catching the videos and let us know what you think about French’s Connection YouTique idea.
