Foodpanda has named Pichaya Thongthua as the interim CEO of its operations in Malaysia. She’s the third person to helm the market since the second half of this year.
Pichaya’s predecessor was John Fang, who took on the role in July after Sayantan Das, the Malaysian CEO since December last year, resigned.
Fang was appointed as regional CEO earlier this week after his predecessor Jakob Angele suddenly left following allegations that he leaked information about the confidential talks between Grab and Foodpanda parent Delivery Hero, which is reportedly selling its Southeast Asian business.
Prior to being interim CEO, Pichaya was director of Foodpanda’s chief international office for Asia Pacific. She also has a similar role at Delivery Hero.
“Over the past three months, Pichaya has been actively managing the operations of the Malaysia business, contributing significantly to key strategic initiatives and daily activities since Sayantan Das’ resignation,” Foodpanda said in a statement to Tech in Asia.
Previously, Pichaya was managing director for Foodpanda’s Cambodia unit and led customer experience and operations at Shopee.
