DailyNinja

DailyNinja, a hyperlocal portal that helps users get their daily items delivered, has raised a pre-series A round of funding led by existing investor Venk Krishnan of NuVentures.

Venk was joined by Taxi For Sure founder Aprameya Radhakrishna, Anupam Mittal of Shaadi and People Group, Kunal Shah of Freecharge, Tracxn Labs, Subramanya SV (ex-Partner at BVP), Ravi Garkipati (EIR and SVP at Flipkart), as well as several other highly connected India and Singapore-based investors.

DailyNinja began as a solution for getting groceries. BITS Pilani graduates Sagar Yarnalkar and Anurag Gupta, also founders of Mumbai-based mobile services company Appspire Technologies, incorporated the company in June last year. The startup, which helps users obtain items like fresh milk, fresh curd, bread, dosa batter, and the newspaper, began operations in July 2015. It currently delivers to 6,500 households in Bangalore, and is available for Android and iOS.

Hyperlocal grocery startup Tokri raised its own pre-series A funding yesterday.

Sheroes

Jobs portal for women Sheroes has secured nearly US$1.8 million in a series A round of funding led by Gurgaon-based Lumis Partners, an investment firm.

The HR Fund, angel investor Rajul Garg, and existing investor Quintillion Media also participated in the round, which is part of a larger commitment.

Founded by Sairee Chahal and launched in January 2014, Sheroes is operated by Applied Life. Much like LinkedIn, it helps connect job-seekers with hiring employers and also aids in locating mentorship and entrepreneurship opportunities.
