Singapore-based healthtech startup Mito Health has announced an additional US$2.2 million in seed funding from new investors. These include US accelerator Y Combinator and angel investment group XA Network.

The round also saw participation from angel investors such as Gojek co-founder Kevin Aluwi, Syfe founder Dhruv Arora, vlogger Nuseir Yassin (popularly known as Nas Daily), and entrepreneur and investor Balaji Srinivasan.

Its current investor, Forge Ventures, also took part in this latest round, which brought its total funding raised to date to US$4 million.

Mito Health offers blood testing services that cover more than 100 biomarkers, referring to biological molecules that indicate health conditions or potential diseases. It combines customers’ in-depth health interviews, family history, past medical records, and other information to build their health profiles.

Kenneth Lou, co-founder and CEO of Mito Health, told Tech in Asia that the company has partnered with American healthcare firm Labcorp, which owns at least 2,000 laboratories in the US.

According to Lou, Mito Health seeks to grow its US-based operations team with the new funding. “We will be spending a lot more time to focus on that market,” he added.

As part of its US expansion, Mito Health will establish more partnerships with content creators, gyms, longevity clinics, and medical spas. It was launched in San Francisco in July 2024 as part of the startup’s participation in Y Combinator’s Summer 2024 batch. The company has since expanded to all 50 states across the country.

“The biggest landing point is the US because the consumer healthcare space is privatized, so there is a large private market for healthcare,” Lou said. It is also a market that is “looking for longevity or on the forefront of longevity,” he added.

Mito Health was established by CEO Lou and COO Tee-Ming Chew, who both co-founded personal finance firm Seedly. The two left the startup in 2022 after it was sold to Hong Kong-based CompareAsiaGroup.

The healthtech firm is also helmed by CTO Joel Kek and chief medical officer Ryan Ware.

Mito Health’s other investors for its latest fundraise include:

  • Nir Eyal (author of Hooked)
  • Alex Svanevik (CEO of Nansen)
  • Prashanth Prakash (partner at Accel)
