In brief: Grab appoints former Facebook exec as regional marketing head
- Sulin Lau, former head of agency for Southeast Asia at Facebook, has been appointed by Grab as its regional head of country marketing.
- Lau comes from an advertising background, where she was previously the managing director of Ogilvy Malaysia and a planner at BBDO, DDB, and Leo Burnett.
- The move could suggest that Grab might be softening its stance towards agencies – it previously said that agencies were not always agile or affordable enough for the ride-hailing company to work with consistently. Conversely, Grab may be planning to do more in-house marketing as it upskills its team.
