Facebook grows to 270M daily active users in Asia, up 25% from same time last year
Facebook’s newest earnings report, for Q1 2015, comes at a time when Mark Zuckerberg’s company is able to boast some ginormous milestone numbers. Indeed, that’s what Zuckerberg did on his Facebook this morning.

In Asia, the headline number is that Facebook has now grown to 471 million monthly active users (MAUs) in Q1 2015, up from 390 million MAUs the same period the year earlier. That’s out of a global total of 1.44 billion MAUs in the newest figures.
Daily driver
Considering how Facebook demands to be used daily, it seems more fitting to look at Facebook’s daily active users (DAUs), which now stand at 270 million in Asia, up from 216 million the year before. That’s from a global total of 936 million DAUs. However, Facebook is not yet providing a DAU breakdown for its separate entities, so for now we only know that WhatsApp has 800 million MAUs and Facebook Messenger has 600 million MAUs.

The good news for Facebook is that its DAUs in Asia are growing more strongly than its MAUs – the Asian DAUs are up 25 percent in the past year compared to 20.8 percent for the MAUs.
Of all Facebook’s daily active users, 798 million of them are active on mobile devices, but the company doesn’t provide a geographic breakdown on mobile.
