Singapore-based Aquilius Investment Partners has closed its first secondaries fund at over US$400 million, with an additional US$200 million of managed accounts available for the co-investments of its backers.
Called AIP Secondary Fund I, the investment vehicle counts global institutional players such as sovereign wealth funds, endowments, and family offices among its limited partners, according to a statement.
The fund is seeking investments in traditional and non-traditional secondaries transactions in the Asia Pacific. It also aims to address the region’s private market liquidity needs, said founding partner Bastian Wolff. The fund has already made various investments “across a comprehensive set of secondary solutions,” the company said in a statement.
Before AIP, Wolff was managing director and head of real estate for Asia at Partners Group. Meanwhile, his co-founder, Christian Keiber, was managing director for private equity at Blackstone.
