Local Celebrity Bloggers Show How To Win Over Online Fans

winningovertruefans_250xarticleimgMost businesses recognize that establishing an online presence is important. However, simply having an online presence is insufficient.

Businesses should view going online as an opportunity to extend their brand conversation. When used effectively, your online channels can function to help you communicate directly with your customers.

Most importantly, this means the ability to rally and consolidate a group of true fans who will stick by your brand and spread your brand message to their friends.

Wondering how you can make it work? Take a leaf from local celebrity bloggers who have managed to establish themselves as tastemakers who have the ability to influence their legions of adoring fans.

Establish Your Personality

It is through the sheer force of their respective personalities as well as the frank candour in which they share their lives with their online audience that local celebrity bloggers have managed to establish themselves with their fans.

For instance, Xiaxue has established for herself a brash and in-your-face personality – “I am an awesome blogger and my awesomeness is too big to fit into the small space!”. She also has no holds barred when coming to content, speaking about anything from MRT irritants to posing photos of hersef after her two recent cosmetics surgery. I think Xiaxue’s readers adore her precisely because of her frank manner which makes them feel that they have been invited into her life and are privy to her innermost thoughts.

After all, people are not coming to your blog just to find out about your latest products or services. They’re dropping by to visit you. Which means you have to be there.

Make It About Them

For businesses, don’t treat your online channels as a mouthpiece for your ego. Stop harping about the awards you’ve won or even how great your latest product/technology is. Just like how we hate people who seem so obnoxious and full of themselves, your customers will get turned off.

Instead, create a space where your customers are free to explore your brands on their own terms. Speak to them as though they were friends whom you genuinely want to forge a connection with. Make them feel like they’re part of your brand and they will pay you back manifold, especially when you need them to speak up for you.

Case in point: Local celebrity bloggers “Xuesha” and “QiuQiu” were recently embroiled in a spat apparently because of some misdirected remark made by the latter on the way the former portrays herself.
