East Ventures leads $2m round of ex-Traveloka execs’ big data startup
Bonza, an Indonesian big data analytics startup that aims to bridge the gap between AI research and its real-life implementation, has raised US$2 million in its latest funding round.

- Founded in April 2020, Bonza says it has managed to achieve profitability in its first year of operations.
- The company raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding from East Ventures in May 2020.
- Bonza’s founders, Philip Thomas and Elsa Chandra, are former executives of Indonesian unicorn Traveloka. Chandra was leading investments while Thomas headed one of the data teams and developed machine learning models for the online travel company.
