
During Ramadan, every Muslim around the world will perform Tarawih prayers every night. This practice recently received a technological boost thanks to YouTube’s live streaming video from the Islamic holy land.
Through a new cooperation between Google Arabia and the Saudi Ministry of Culture and Information, every Muslim around the world can now enjoy live streaming of Islamic prayers during Ramadan from the Holy Mosque, Masjid Al-Haram. As the largest mosque in the world, and also the sanctuary for the Holy Kaaba, it’s the centerpoint of all Muslim prayer.
Tarabzona Abdul Rahman, Google’s director for Arab markets, announced the association through a post on Google Arabia’s blog. The news will likely receive an enthusiastic response from Muslim netizens across the globe.
