Farm2Kitchen is India’s first Facebook social shopping that has redefined the shopping experience for Indian women.
For obvious reasons, Farm2Kitchen believes that Indian women should not waste too much time buying groceries. Who would say no to the convenience of being able to select your own groceries, have them delivered to your door step for free, and without the hassles of swiping your credit card.
In my view, Farm2Kitchen has redefined the shopping experience by providing an alternative way to shop online, all through Facebook.
How to Shop?
Shopping for vegetables and fruits is not rocket science, but I’ve got to give credit to Farm2Kitchen who have greatly simplified the process:
- Join Farm2Kitchen’s Facebook fan page
- Select the desired vegetables and fruits. You can also share your shopping list with your Twitter and Facebook community.
- Once you are done with your shopping, click on ‘Proceed to Checkout’ which will lead you to the primary site for the rest of the process. Keep in mind that you have to spend at least Rs.200 ($4.40)
- The next few steps include registration, providing your billing and shipping address and setting up your delivery time.
- Farm2Kitchen lets you decide the delivery time.
- You only pay after receiving the goods, and best of all there are no delivery charges.
Why Farm2Kitchen?
In my opinion:
- Farm2Kitchen is easy to use and saves a lot of time
- Do all your shopping within the Facebook ecosystem
- Hassle free payment after you receive the goods
- Choose your delivery time
- Zero charges on home delivery
- Discount incentives for group buying
- A helpful online and an offline presence.
It is a good service model, and assuming that the business model works out well, Farm2Kitchen should consider expanding as it can’t make it big just by serving Gurgoan women alone. The only glitch that I found was that women can no longer bargain, as they might with regular shopping.
