Techcrunch Disrupt Awards and Closing Ceremony [Live Blog]

This is a part of our TechCrunch Disrupt 2011 event coverage.

#17:29: OK, and now for our last TechCrunch Disrupt liveblog, the Awards/Closing Ceremony. Right now, Techcrunch CEO Heather Harde is onstage thanking everyone who helped them with this conference, especially Kaifu Lee, who apparently convinced Sarah Lacy to get on board with the idea.

#17:31: Specifically thanking our fellow Asia bloggers Technode for their help with the conference. Good work, guys!

#17:33: Sarah Lacy is back onstage again, ready to introduce the winner. She says she doesn’t want to give the award because she doesn’t want the conference to be over. She’s done lots of awesome stuff, but she’s really enjoyed putting this conference together and being inspired by China. “Thank you guys for being so amazing […] thank you guys for being an entrepreneur ecosystem that forced us to come.”

#17:34: She’s also thanking people and asking us to applaud them. Including the person who set up the wifi… er …well, it sort of worked. Some of the time. Still, I’m sure they worked hard on it!

#17:37: Ok, we’re done with the thanks. All of the finalists are now taking the stage. One team will win $50,000 and the Disrupt Cup, which is pretty shiny. The rest of them will probably be satisfied with the great exposure they’ve gotten.

#17:38: (We can’t connect to the internet long enough to upload but we’ll have photos to add later today)

#17:40: We’re running through all the finalists again and clapping for them all. Good work guys!

TC will announce a winner and a runner-up. Sarah Lacy forgot to announce Touchpal just now, though. Doesn’t bode well for their chances.

Runner up and winner Anquanbao and Order with Me. Not sure which is which yet, though. Might be worth noting here that one of these companies is Chinese (Anquanbao) and one is American, but based in China (Order with Me).

#17:41: Here comes the big $50,000 check. It’s giant because hey, why not? And the winner is: Order with Me!

#17:42: Their team now giving their thanks to family, their faith, and China. Also thank the Techcrunch crew.

#17:45: And that’s it. It’s over and we’re back to listening to the robot say “Tech Crunch Disrupt!” over and over again. We hope you’ve enjoyed our liveblogging these past two days, and we’ve got more stuff from Disrupt still to come that we haven’t had time to get out yet.
