We just received official word from Japanese social gaming company DeNA (TYO:2432) that it will be bringing Square Enix’s Final Fantasy to the Mobage platform as a social game.
This follows Andria Sang’s quick post earlier this morning pointing to the Final Fantasy x Mobage teaser site that had just come online.
The game is described as an ‘RPG where you fight for your friends,’ which sounds like an interesting social twist on the popular title. DeNA says that users in Japan can pre-register for the new Mobage Final Fantasy starting today, with certain in-game benefits going to players who buy Square Enix’s new PSP title Final Fantasy Type-0, on sale today. Regrettably there aren’t any screenshots or previews of the Mobage Final Fantasy available yet, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted if any become available.
