Demand for Web3 talent remains amid downturn, BNB Chain says

Following the launch of its Web3-focused ecosystem job board at the beginning of the year, BNB Chain – Binance’s open-sourced and decentralized ecosystem – said that demand for talent in blockchain continues to grow despite the economic downturn.

Amid mass tech layoffs, the firm currently lists 173 roles on its own platform. BNB Chain also pointed to the nearly 30,000 opportunities in the global Web3 space listed online.

Since 2018, there has also been a 297% increase in monthly active crypto developers as of December 2022, indicating a growing interest in the space.

“As building in Web3 grows, we believe that we will see continued hiring across the space. We want to be at the forefront of that growth and help attract the best talent into the industry,” Zoe Wei, BNB Chain’s business director, said in a statement.

BNB Chain is a blockchain network created by crypto giant Binance. In terms of transaction volume and daily active users, the firm says it is the world’s largest smart contract blockchain.

Of late, Binance seems to be one of the luckier crypto firms – it aims to grow its workforce this year by up to 30%. On the other hand, rival Coinbase is looking to slash 950 jobs while Huobi has shared plans to cut its headcount by 20%.

Binance also recently made headlines when it acquired Indonesia-based Tokocrypto.
