Thai property management app Horganice locks in seed funding

Horganice, a startup that makes an app for landlords and tenants, has raised an unspecified amount of seed funding.

As Thailand’s smartphone toters get used to putting more of their life online, Horganice wants property owners to put their property and tenants’ information in the app. Tenants can also use it for payments and invoices.

The Chiang Mai-based startup has users across Thailand, saying the service is used to manage 3,000 properties comprised of 130,000 rented rooms.

CEO and founder Tanawit Tonekunya, 26, will use the funding to add new services. Expansion beyond Thailand is not yet on the cards.

The funding comes from Beacon VC, the corporate venture capital arm of Thailand’s Kasikornbank. The bank last year partnered up with the startup to get its customers who are landlords to try out the service, as well as to give property owners special deals on KBank loans.

Beacon VC has invested in Grab.

A number of startups around the world are doing the same thing, such as US-based Cozy, which processes over US$500 million per year in rental payments.
