Product search engine Telunjuk finds series A funding from Lippo Digital Ventures

Indonesian shopping recommendation engine and price comparison site Telunjuk announced today it raised a series A round of funding of an undisclosed amount from Lippo Digital Ventures (LDV), the tech investment arm of Indonesia’s family-owned Lippo conglomerate.
LDV managing partner Rudy Ramawy will assume the role of commissioner of Telunjuk. LDV will bring in people from existing investors Japan-based Venture Republic and startup incubator Project Eden to join the board of commissioners, while Telunjuk co-founders Redya Febriyanto and Hanindia Narendrata Rahiesa will remain on the board of directors.

“For the last two years we held numerous meeting and discussions with potential investors from inside and abroad,” says Febriyanto. “We are grateful to meet and exchange ideas with John Riady and Rudy Ramawy from Lippo Digital Ventures […] We believed Lippo Group’s experience in serving Indonesian people would be a valuable ammunition for us to further reinforce our position as the best shopping references for the Indonesian people.”
He adds that Ramawy’s leadership experience as country manager for Google Indonesia was also a strong incentive for Telunjuk to jump into bed with LDV. Febriyanto says Telunjuk hopes to start 2016 strong and expand to “serve several countries in Southeast Asia.”

We believe this team will be able to execute their plans and with decades of experience and [the] extensive network that we [have], we are very eager to support these plans.”
Telunjuk started in 2011 as a search engine for people looking to buy laptops and phones. Today, Telunjuk can be used to find more than 15 million products, including prices, discounts, vouchers, and reviews by hundreds of online shops in Indonesia and Asia.
