The crypto arm of Indonesia-based investment unicorn Ajaib said its volume of transactions in Bitcoin shot up by 600% from March 17 to March 19.
A company spokesperson attributed this to an increase in Bitcoin’s price, which reached a nine-month high of US$27,000 on March 17.
This momentum also comes after Ajaib announced its decision to remove transaction fees for purchases and sales involving Bitcoin. It is the first crypto platform to do so in Indonesia.
The company started offering mutual fund transactions in 2019 and stocks in 2020. It launched a crypto business in June 2022 and has offered Bitcoin transactions since.
