ComScore Chart: Maybe Teens Do Like to Tweet

ComScoreThe Twitterverse is hugely dominated by adults users and this has perhaps made Twitter unappealing to teens.

There may not be many teens using Twitter currently but according to ComScore, it is certainly the fastest growing segment.

    teens do tweet

This chart has a proportion score represented by its y-axis. A score of 100 tells us that the visits by a particular age group to Twitter is perfectly proportionate to its total Internet use. In another words, it represents people’s Twitter Presence vs Web Presence as a Whole.

Clearly, with a score of 121, people between ages 12 -24 have generated greater Twitter presence than they are expected to. The adults might soon have to step aside and let the teens take over.

Now, who said teens don’t tweet?

Everything Else Seems to be Dropping

Besides age groups 2-11 and 12-24, the others have experienced a decrease in proportion score. Are people starting to get sick of Twitter? If so, why? Could it be due to the massive amount of blabber transmitted on Twitter? Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy reading tweets but sometimes too much needless information can dilute the value of micro-blogging.
