Cloudphone: a phone that looks out for your children and grandparents

Ollo Mobile is a Brisbane-based startup maker of wearable devices that connect seniors. For just $199, you will get a whole package of CloudPhone 3G plus three months of cloud coverage. It helps to track activities, detect falls, knows when they leave a safe path, and discover illnesses early. In short, it is a sweet combination of fitness monitor, location tracker, and a minimalist phone for our loved ones.
The company has won many awards, which includes first place at the Rackspace startup competition three months ago in Australia, where CEO Hugh Geiger won a round-trip to Silicon Valley and was interviewed by Robert Scoble. The team officially launched the product CloudPhone 3G on Indiegogo late last month, aiming to raise $AUS 50,000. Today, the campaign successfully exceeded 100 percent of its goal and was featured as “Indiegogo’s Campaign of the Day”.
In my opinion, it is a great value for its price because it will help to protect our seniors and children. We usually have to decide whether to get a feature phone or a smartphone for them. The former has a tiny screen for them while the later has a bigger screen but it is too complicated. So CloudPhone perfectly bridges the gap.

One of their investors are Andrey Shirben who has many successful investments that includes Face.com (acquired by Facebook). Andrey shared with Tech In Asia that the team is looking for a distribution partner in many Southeast Asian countries. He elaborates:
We do plan to launch in various countries in SEA and were specifically looking to get on SingTel radar for this, as our main distribution partner.
