Atome, a Singapore-based provider of buy now, pay later services, has received US$45 million from its parent company Advance Intelligence Group, according to VentureCap Insights.

Founded in 2017 by Chun Dong Chau, Dong Shou, and Jefferson Chen, Atome allows customers to split their bills into three equal payments at a 0% interest rate.
Since its launch, Atome has partnered with more than 5,000 online and offline retailers in nine markets across Southeast Asia and Greater China.
In October 2021, Standard Chartered and Atome Financial entered into a 10-year partnership that involves a US$500 million investment from the the global banking giant.
In November 2021, Atome teamed up with Carousell to roll out BNPL services for the online marketplace major’s merchants in Hong Kong. Atome also has similar tie-ups with fintech heavyweights such as India’s Pine Labs, Fomo Pay of Singapore, and Malaysia-based PayHalal.
Advance Intelligence Group entered the unicorn club in September 2021 after a US$400 million round co-led by SoftBank. The series D round valued Atome’s parent firm at US$2 billion.
