Classic Dungeons and Dragons RPG Baldur’s Gate II is released for iPad

Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition was launched today for iOS (iPad only) for the somewhat intimidating price of $14.99. It is available on the Chinese, American and UK stores right now, but dates may vary for other locations. The enhanced edition includes the original Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn game along with the Throne of Bhaal expansion pack and the newly added Black Pits.

For those of you too young to know, Baldurs Gate II is a top down RPG set in the classic Dungeon and Dragons’ Forgotten Realms and tells the tale of the son of a dark god trying to find his way in the world. It was originally released back in 2000 for the PC.

This game is huge and the download alone will take up a whopping 1.92 gigabytes of your iPad’s precious storage. However it is also huge in content, so if you are looking for a game with to keep you busy over the coming weeks (or months) then look no further.

Also, it contains my favourite character from any computer game ever: Minsc, a giant warrior who wields a two handed sword and takes care of a small hamster called Boo, which he is convinced is a giant space hamster disguised as a normal hamster.
