6 common traits of successful marketers

marketing-content

Buffer, a social media management tool used content marketing to get more to than 10,000 users. As surveys point out that the budget kept aside for content marketing is greater than the previous years, content marketers have to use tactics that give strong ROI.

With so many intricacies revolving around content marketing, it is a tedious and long term process. Even if two content marketers handle a similar campaign, the results from both would be widely variable because both view the same campaign differently. The attitude and approach towards the campaign plays an important role.

What do successful content marketers have in common?

1. They believe in high quality content

Successful content marketers know the potential of high value content and its contribution in creating a brand image. Before each content goes out, it is scrutinized to check effectiveness, ability to trigger interest, potential of solving the pain points, garner user engagement and attain virality.

They ensure that the content that goes out adds value to the existing knowledge or solves the pain points of the target audience.

2. They use multiple content forms

Short is sweet (Seth Gordin’s blog) but long form content helps to establish thought leadership. If there is something worthwhile to discuss, they do not hold back to a single format, use a combination of blogs, infographic, meme’s, e-books, videos (bite sized, influencer interviews) and podcasts to engage the audience.

Be fearless in trying new ways to deliver content to make a long lasting impact.

3. They follow no rulebook

The beauty of content marketing lies in the fact that there are no limitations, as far as the content engages the audience you can explore your imagination. Amid so much clutter successful marketers have found out ways to stand distinct.

See content as a source of actionable solutions and not as a commodity to be sold.

4. They do not hold back knowledge
