Chinese LoL pro Styz's yearlong ban reduced as L-ACE confirms he was 'incited'

Late last month, Chinese League of Legends eSport regulatory body L-ACE banned LGD midlaner Styz for a full year after he was found to have been communicating with another team while still under contract at LGD. Now, L-ACE has announced that his punishment will be reduced to just half a year after it was determined that his actions had been ‘incited’ by someone else.

L-ACE also felt that Styz deserved a ban reduction as he admitted he was wrong and has been actively cooperating with their investigation, and actively trying to mend fences with LGD.

As far as who ‘incited’ him, the L-ACE announcement doesn’t say, but it seems highly likely that it was former Edward Gaming CEO Efeng, who suddenly resigned just as Styz’s ban was handed down. Even then, rumors spread around the scene that he’d stepped down from EDG after inciting Styz into breaking the rules, and with L-ACE’s confirmation that Styz’s violation was incited by someone else, Efeng seems like the prime candidate.
