- Indian ride-sharing service Ola has received a private-hire vehicle license from London’s transport agency, allowing it to take on Uber in the UK capital after its planned launch around September, The Financial Times reported.
- The Transport for London license allows Ola to operate for 15 months before it’s required to seek a renewal October of next year.
- Ola’s entry follows the arrival of new challengers in London’s transportation space, including France’s Kapten and ViaVan, a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz Vans and US vehicle-sharing service Via.
