“Niu Technologies is in talks to supply its electric scooters to Southeast Asian ride-hailing company Gojek to increase market share in the region,” Niu’s CEO Li Yan told Reuters.

- Niu plans to expand across the world if there are “further drops in battery cell prices,” Li said.
- The Changzhou-headquartered company, which has 1,600 shops in China, aims to expand its sales network in its home market and open stores faster than last year.
- Li expects Niu’s annual production capacity to reach over 2 million scooters from April, doubling from the current 1 million.

- Niu has been sending e-scooters to Gojek for testing.
- While Niu has over 100 shops abroad, 95% of its scooters and motorcycles are sold in China.
