Chinese developers can soon monetize with Chartboost thanks to Chukong Technologies

Mobile game revenue platform Chartboost has teamed up with China’s Chukong Technologies in a strategic partnership that will bring Chartboost’s technology to Chinese developers.

Through this, it is hoped that developers will be able to find new players, monetize games through higher retention, increase advertising revenue, and see greater transparency and have better control of their campaigns.

Lei Zhang, the US general manager of Chukong Technologies, said via press release that the company believes Chartboost’s analytics is just what Chinese developers need.

The combination of Chartboost’s tools and our local market expertise will provide a premier monetization solution for the millions of China-based app developers.

Shina, an operations leader who is based in China, agrees. She says that it’s important to be able to learn about users, and that the information may even help steer a game’s direction. She also added that Chartboost would help publishers.

People who want to know more [about the market] will be very grateful to it.

And it’s not just China. The heavily-fragmented Chinese mobile market is confusing, and not to mention, almost intimidating for anyone outside of China hoping to navigate through it. Localized services from Chartboost could most certainly help developers hoping to enter the Chinese market.

According to Don Sim, CEO and co-founder of Singapore’s Daylight Studios, the partnership could be helpful to industry players outside of China.

I would say it’s useful because it means that I can market my games into China piggy-backing on Chukong’s great line up of games.

However he added that it depended on just what services Chartboost and Chukong were going to provide.
